Super Eagles defender Abdullahi Bewene has signed a new five-year contract with Czech First League side Banik Ostrava, extending his stay at the club until June 2031.
The agreement secures the future of the 21-year-old right-back, whose previous deal was set to expire earlier. The club confirmed the extension this week, listing his contract expiration as June 30, 2031.
Bewene, born November 29, 2004, joined Ostrava in 2025 and has developed into a regular option on the right flank. Capable of playing as a right-back and right midfield, he is valued for his pace, defensive work rate and ability to support the attack. The new deal reflects the club's intention to build around young talent and ward off interest following his recent progress at both club and international level.
The extension comes weeks after Bewene made his senior debut for Nigeria. He was handed a late call-up by Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle for the June international window and started against Poland.
