Spain winger Lamine Yamal reportedly did not train with the main squad on Thursday ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final against Argentina.

The session took place at a training facility in New Jersey as Spain began its final preparations for Sunday's match at New York New Jersey Stadium in East Rutherford. Yamal was seen on the pitch wearing a bandage around his left thigh after reporting muscle discomfort.

According to reports in Spain, the 18-year-old Barcelona forward was held out as a precaution and is not at risk of missing the final. Spain-based outlet Marca reported that both Yamal and teammate Pedro Porro were kept out of full training to manage their condition, with the bandage described as part of the staff's plan to have him in top condition for Sunday.

The final is scheduled for Sunday, July 19 at 3 p.m. ET at MetLife Stadium, which FIFA is calling New York New Jersey Stadium. Spain reached the final after a 2-0 semifinal win over France, while defending champions Argentina came from behind to beat England 2-1 in Atlanta behind two late assists from Lionel Messi.
