German club Eintracht Frankfurt are pushing to complete a deal for Nigerian midfielder Raphael Onyedika, with Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad now entering the race for his signature.
The 25-year-old, who plays for Belgian champions Club Brugge, has become a transfer target this week. According to reports from July 22 and 23, Frankfurt submitted an opening bid for Onyedika and reached a verbal agreement with the player over a long-term contract.
The Bundesliga club had two earlier offers rejected but has narrowed the gap with Brugge's valuation. On Wednesday, Al Ittihad also sent an official proposal to Brugge, making the chase a two-club contest.
Club Brugge value Onyedika at around 10 million euros. The fee is lower than last year's asking price of 30 million euros because the midfielder has one year left on his contract, which expires in the summer of 2027.
Reports indicate Frankfurt's latest offer is between 8 million and 10 million euros, close to Brugge's demand. Both clubs have had initial bids turned down as negotiations continue.
