Aston Villa have signed Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho from Chelsea on a season-long loan deal. The Premier League club announced the move on Wednesday, confirming the 22-year-old as their third signing of the summer window.

The agreement includes a conditional obligation for the move to become permanent next summer. Villa will be required to buy the winger for £42.5 million if certain conditions are met, with a four-year contract already lined up should the clause be triggered.

Garnacho will wear the No. 17 shirt at Villa Park, a number he previously wore at Manchester United and has also worn during his eight appearances for Argentina.

Garnacho joined Chelsea from Manchester United last summer for around £40 million after making 144 appearances and scoring 26 goals for the Old Trafford club. He found regular starts limited in West London, starting 22 matches in all competitions last season and scoring eight times in 43 appearances.

Villa manager Unai Emery said: "We are delighted with Alejandro. He is so talented, young and he showed us his wish to help our project. We are really happy".
