Wolverhampton Wanderers cancelled a first-team training session this week after striker Tolu Arokodare refused to leave the pitch when told not to train with the group. The incident took place on Monday at the club's Compton Park training ground, according to reports by Wolves journalist Nathan Judah.

The 25-year-old Nigerian international was informed by new head coach Cesar Peixoto that he was no longer part of the first-team plans but declined to exit the session, forcing staff to call off training.

Peixoto, who was appointed in June following Rob Edwards' departure after Wolves' relegation from the Premier League, is understood to be taking a firm stance against indiscipline.

The club has since increased security at Compton Park to prevent a repeat. Arokodare was not included in the squad that travelled for Wednesday evening's pre-season friendly against Maidenhead United.

The forward joined Wolves from Belgian side Genk in September 2025 for a fee reported at around £23.4 million and scored three goals in 33 Premier League appearances last season as the club finished bottom.
