Nearly three years after the Madrid legend Karim Benzema’s departure, Real Madrid still lacks a true centre-forward and a growing number of football insiders believe Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen is the answer.
The 27-year-old Super Eagles international has been linked with a summer exit from Galatasaray, where he has thrived since arriving on loan. Now, fresh transfer rumors place the former Napoli star firmly on Real Madrid’s radar as club president Florentino PĂ©rez searches for a reliable goal-scoring pivot.
FIFA-licensed agent Mithat Halis recently broke down in the Spanish Daily AS why Osimhen fits the system better than any alternative. In his assessment, the Nigerian is neither a static penalty-box striker nor a classic number nine but a complete forward who can press, hold off defenders, and even drop into second-striker positions. Halis argued that with Osimhen leading the line, both VinĂcius Jr. and Kylian MbappĂ© would return to their natural wing roles and become more effective overall.
Galatasaray is reportedly demanding no less than €130 million, and Osimhen’s contract includes performance-based clauses that could drive the final fee higher. Additionally, Premier League sides like Chelsea and Arsenal remain interested in the Nigerian forward.
