Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembélé was named Ligue 1 Player of the Year at the UNFP Trophées du Football ceremony in Paris on Monday 11, 2026.

The award, presented at the Palais Brongniart, marks his second consecutive win. Dembélé succeeds Kylian Mbappé, who held the prize for five straight seasons, and becomes only the fifth player to win back-to-back honors, the first since Zlatan Ibrahimovic in 2014.

The 28-year-old received the vote of fellow professionals despite an injury-limited domestic campaign. He started nine Ligue 1 matches for 960 minutes, scoring 10 goals and providing six assists, down from 21 goals the previous season.

Under coach Luis Enrique he was shifted from the wing into a central role, a change PSG credits for his wider output of 33 goals and 13 assists across all competitions. The night underlined PSG's domestic dominance: the club placed a record nine players in the UNFP Team of the Season, and teammate Désiré Doué was named Best Young Player after a breakout year.

In his acceptance speech, Dembélé thanked the club staff, president, Luis Enrique, and his teammates. He then singled out midfielder Vitinha, saying Vitinha had asked him for a tribute and joking that his fellow Portuguese international also deserved it but had scored only one league goal, a line that drew laughter from the audience, including France coach Didier Deschamps.

Dembélé called the trophy an individual honor owed to the team, as PSG turns toward the Coupe de France final against Reims on May 24 and the Champions League final at the end of the month.
