Lewandowski, Torres Fire Barcelona to 2-1 Late Win Over Osasuna

Robert Lewandowski celebrates goals against Osasuna

Barcelona defeated Osasuna 2-1 on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at El Sadar in Pamplona to extend their LaLiga title advantage.

Polish striker Robert Lewandowski opened Barcelona's account in the 81st minute, heading home a precise cross from English forward Marcus Rashford. Five minutes later, Spanish winger Ferran Torres doubled the lead in the 86th minute after receiving a through ball from Spanish midfielder Fermín López and finishing low past Sergio Herrera. Spanish forward Raúl García de Haro pulled one back for Osasuna in the 88th minute, converting from close range. Barcelona controlled possession for long spells but found Osasuna's compact defensive shape difficult to penetrate until late pressure forced errors and produced two decisive strikes before the hosts responded.

The result moves Barcelona, coached by German Hansi Flick, further clear at the summit of LaLiga. They arrived in Pamplona with 85 points from 33 matches, eleven ahead of second-placed Real Madrid on 74, and boast a league-best goal difference of plus 57 after scoring 87 times and conceding 30. The three points taken at El Sadar lift their tally to 88 with five fixtures remaining, keeping them on course for a 29th league title. Osasuna, managed by Alessio Lisci, stay ninth with 42 points, their hopes of European qualification dented by a third home defeat of the campaign despite a strong defensive record that had previously conceded only 18 goals at El Sadar across the current season.

Barcelona return to LaLiga action on Sunday, May 10, 2026, when they host Real Madrid in the Clasico at Spotify Camp Nou with kickoff scheduled for 4:15pm time in Barcelona.
