Inter Milan are monitoring Fulham defender Calvin Bassey ahead of the summer transfer window, with the Serie A leaders joining a group of Italian clubs tracking the Nigeria international.
The 26-year-old, born in Italy to Nigerian parents, plays as a centre-back and left-back for Fulham and has become a regular for club and country. Reports linking him to Juventus circulated on social media this week, but Inter's interest is the most concrete, emerging during the January window.
Bassey joined Fulham from Dutch side Ajax in the summer of 2023 for a fee reported at around £19 million. He is contracted at Craven Cottage until 2027, with Fulham holding an option to extend by a further year. Club sources insist there is no plan to sell midway through the season, viewing him as key to Marco Silva's defence as Fulham chase a European place. Inter, managed by Christian Chivu, are looking for reinforcements to cope with a tight Scudetto race and Champions League fixtures. Other unnamed Serie A sides are also watching.
The defender's stock has risen after being voted Fulham's Player of the Year last season and delivering strong performances for Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations in early 2025.
