Germany defeated Finland 4-0 in an international friendly on Sunday at Mewa Arena in Mainz, Germany, as the hosts continued their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Deniz Undav, the German forward, headed home the opener in the 33rd minute from a Joshua Kimmich cross. Florian Wirtz, the German attacking midfielder, added a second in the 47th minute assisted by Undav. Undav scored his second goal in the 56th minute, finished from a Lennart Karl pass. Jamal Musiala, the German midfielder, completed the scoring in the 62nd minute.

Germany dominated possession and attacking play throughout, controlling the match from start to finish against a defensive Finnish side.

Germany, ranked 10th in the FIFA standings, entered the match on a strong run of form ahead of the World Cup. The victory extended their unbeaten streak and provided valuable minutes for key players in a low-stakes environment, with Finland ranked 73rd offering limited resistance.

Germany’s next match is against the United States on June 6.
