President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has postponed his scheduled trip to Iperu, Ogun State, to instead visit Jos, Plateau State, following gunmen attacks in Angwan Rukuba on March 29 that left at least 26 people dead. A 48-hour curfew was subsequently imposed in the area.
In a statement, the President said his priority is to stand with the people of Plateau, commiserate with families who lost loved ones, and reaffirm that efforts to spread fear will not succeed. He added that security responses will be strengthened to ensure justice is done.
After his visit to Plateau, he will proceed to Lagos for Good Friday before continuing engagements in Ogun, Lagos, and Bayelsa focused on infrastructure, trade, and economic growth.
