Former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has accused Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher of downplaying Mohamed Salah’s achievements. In a social media post, Evra said he is “baffled” by how the Egyptian forward is treated at Liverpool.
He claimed Carragher and other former Liverpool stars have stayed quiet or criticized Salah instead of celebrating his success.
Evra argued that Salah has been forced to post his own statistics and trophies on social media to remind fans of his value. “He has to sing his own song because the guys who should be singing it are too busy trying to diminish him,” Evra stated.
He contrasted Liverpool’s approach with Arsenal, where legends like Ian Wright and Thierry Henry support current stars such as Bukayo Saka.
Salah, considered one of Liverpool’s greatest-ever players, has won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and multiple Golden Boots with the club. Evra described the situation as “very sad” and said Liverpool’s best-ever player should not have to fight for his legacy at his own club.
