Former Liverpool Winger Babel Warns Salah’s True Value Will Be Felt After Departure

Babel and Mohamed Salah

Former Liverpool winger Ryan Babel has issued a stark warning regarding the true impact of Mohamed Salah, suggesting that the Egyptian’s contributions will only be fully appreciated once he leaves the club.

In an interview with Hayters TV, Babel described Salah as “unbelievable,” emphasizing that the scale of his influence at Anfield is currently underestimated. The Dutchman, who played for Liverpool between 2007 and 2011, believes the current generation of supporters will only recognize the full magnitude of Salah’s achievements in hindsight.

Babel, who retired from professional football in November 2024, made 146 appearances for the club during his three-and-a-half-season spell. Known for his pace and versatility as a left winger, he arrived from Ajax in 2007 for approximately £11.5 million.

Salah remains a central figure for Liverpool, with his goal-scoring consistency and longevity having already cemented his status as one of the Premier League’s all-time great forwards.
