Liverpool Overturn Deficit to Reach Champions League Quarter-Finals

Slot speaking to BBC Sports

Liverpool defeated Galatasaray 4-0 at Anfield on Wednesday 18 March, securing a 4-1 aggregate victory to reach the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.

After losing the first leg 1-0 in Istanbul, the Reds responded with goals from Dominik Szoboszlai, Hugo Ekitike, Ryan Gravenberch, and Mohamed Salah. The dominant performance ensures the English side enters the final eight of the competition in peak form.

Despite the emphatic scoreline, manager Arne Slot remained focused on the tactical evolution of his squad. Reflecting on the team's progress and recent high-stakes encounters, Slot stated that his recent experience managing at Anfield was "the BEST game I've managed in my career, maybe not in result, but how football should be played."

Galatasaray failed to register a shot on target as they struggled against Liverpool’s high press. Looking ahead to the next round, Slot expressed confidence in his side's style of play regardless of the opponent. "I'm looking forward to facing PSG again," Slot added.
