Nigerian Super Eagles legend Sunday Oliseh has commented on Adam Akor’s performance at the Africa Cup of Nations match between Nigeria and Tanzania, played in Rabat, Morocco. The former national team captain shared his thoughts after Nigeria secured a hard-fought 2–1 victory.
Speaking to Afro Sport after Nigeria’s 2–1 win against the Tanzanians, the former Super Eagles manager praised Adam Akor, describing him as his standout performer in Nigeria’s opening AFCON match. Oliseh said the midfielder demonstrated maturity, energy, and tactical awareness beyond his years. “He was all over the pitch trying to make things happen for the Super Eagles,” Oliseh remarked, despite Akor being unable to find the back of the net.
Oliseh further explained that tournament football is not always about goals but about influence and discipline on the pitch. He added that Akor’s performance showed he is capable of handling pressure at the highest level and could play an important role as the competition progresses.
