Nigeria Super Eagles National Team

The Nigerian team shines after facing a tough challenge with Tunisia at the Fez Stadium in Morocco. The Super Eagles delivered a strong and disciplined performance to secure a hard-fought 3–2 victory in their Group C encounter at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Victor Osimhen opened his 2025 AFCON goal account by giving Nigeria a 1–0 lead, rising highest to head home a fine delivery from Ademola Lookman before the break. The goal set the tone for Nigeria’s attacking intent. Captain Wilfred Ndidi then doubled the advantage, scoring his first international goal to hand the Super Eagles greater control of the match. Ademola Lookman later added a crucial third goal, continuing his impressive form and establishing himself as one of Nigeria’s most consistent scorers across two AFCON matches. Although Tunisia pulled two goals back, including a late penalty, Nigeria’s defense held firm to secure the vital victory.

Nigeria will now turn its attention to its final Group C fixture against Uganda, scheduled for Tuesday, 30 December. The Super Eagles will be aiming to build on their momentum and finish the group stage strongly as they seek qualification for the knockout rounds.
