Ghana's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Okudzeto Ablakwa, outlined Africa's demands for equitable relations as he joined Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang at the AU-EU Summit in Angola. Ablakwa described the event as a "defining moment" for Africa-Europe relations.

Putting up with Twitter, Ablakwa emphasized the trade dynamic between the continents, stating, “Europe is Africa's largest trading partner, however, Africa is demanding better terms and conditions.” He conveyed the sentiment of African leaders at the Luanda summit, accentuating, “Africa does not seek pity, we demand parity.”

Ablakwa further noted that Africa seeks a new cooperation of equals that prioritizes adding value to the continent's natural resources. This reformed partnership, he stated, “transforms our nations, creates opportunities for the world's youngest continent, enhances security through ending wars on both continents, defeating extremism, and keeping all proxy warmongers out.”

The core objective of the conference in Angola is the “clear commitment to co-create a reformed AU-EU paradigm that delivers tangible results for the people we serve,” he added. Ghana's participation aims to help shape this new framework to ensure positive and lasting outcomes for its citizens and the wider continent.
