Brann Beat Rosenborg 3-2 as Castro Scores

SK Brann defeated Rosenborg 3-2 in an Eliteserien Matchday 16 clash on Sunday at Brann Stadion in Bergen, as Chilean forward Niklas Castro, Icelandic attacker Kristall Máni Ingason and Norwegian midfielder Kristian Eriksen scored to secure the home win and three points.

Chilean Niklas Castro opened the scoring in the 14th minute assisted by Norwegian Niklas Jensen Wassberg. Algerian Amin Chiakha equalised from the penalty spot in the 62nd minute. Norwegian Iver Fossum put Rosenborg ahead in the 67th minute assisted by Jonas Svensson. Icelandic Kristall Máni Ingason levelled in the 75th minute assisted by Norwegian Kristian Eriksen, who then scored the winner in the 90+2nd minute. 

The result lifts Brann in the Eliteserien table after 16 matches. Prior to the fixture Brann sat on 19 points from 15 games with a goal difference of +5 while Rosenborg held 18 points from 14 games with a +1 difference; the home side now sits higher with the three points gained.

Brann’s next upcoming match is against Apollon Limassol on Wednesday 5 August in the UEFA Conference League third qualifying round first leg.
