Greek international Vangelis Pavlidis scored in the 11th minute, assisted by Rafa Silva, then added goals in the 55th minute assisted by Jakub Kamiński, the 65th minute and a 74th-minute penalty. French defender Clément Lenglet scored in the 82nd minute. Croatian defender Jozo Stanić received a red card in the 57th minute.
Benfica dominated possession and created repeated chances after equalising the aggregate early, controlling the match throughout both halves once reduced to ten men.
