Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has publicly supported his former club following their defeat in the Champions League final.
Speaking to CBS Sports after the match on Saturday, May 30, Henry addressed Arsenal's loss to Paris Saint-Germain, managed by Luis Enrique. The final ended in a penalty shootout after the teams competed through regular and extra time. Henry urged the squad not to dwell on the result.
Despite the defeat, Henry pointed to the club's overall performance this season. He noted that reaching the Champions League final against Europe's top teams and winning the Premier League made it a strong campaign for Arsenal Football Club.
He told CBS Sports that losing to a very good team after pushing them to their limits should not define the season. The former striker emphasized that the experience could benefit the team.
Henry said failure can help the Gunners grow and stated they should be better next season. He added that the players should feel the loss but not dwell on it. His message ended with a clear statement of confidence in the club’s future: “We will be back.” The comments come as Arsenal closes a season that included a domestic league title and a run to the European final.
