Gabriel addresses fans after Arsenal's Champions League final loss to PSG

Arsenal were beaten by Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final on Saturday 30 May at the Puskas Arena in Budapest.

The match finished 1-1 after normal time, with Kai Havertz giving Arsenal an early lead before Ousmane Dembele equalised for PSG with a second-half penalty. Extra time produced no winner and PSG retained the trophy with a 4-3 victory in the shoot-out. Defender Gabriel Magalhaes missed the decisive spot-kick for Arsenal, with teammate Eberechi Eze also failing to convert.

A day later, Gabriel broke his silence in a post on Instagram. Writing on Sunday 31 May, the Brazil international described the defeat as painful but said he remained proud of the team's work across the season. "It's painful, but I'm proud of this team and everything we achieved together this season. Thank you to our incredible fans for your support every step of the way. You deserve to celebrate this journey with us and enjoy the parade today! See you next season!!! Love, Big Gab," he wrote.

The message was published hours before Arsenal's open-top bus parade through north London to celebrate winning the Premier League title, the club's first in 22 years.
