Former Super Eagles winger Victor Moses says he cherishes his time playing for Nigeria, describing it as an experience he truly enjoyed.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Pulse Sports Editor-in-Chief Joba Ogunwale at the Famous CFC Watch Party in Lagos on May 9, 2026, Moses reflected on his international career. "I love playing for Nigeria, I really enjoyed it. I won the AFCON in 2013 and represented Nigeria at the 2014 and 2018 World Cups," he told Pulse Sports Nigeria.
Moses also explained why he walked away from international football at just 27. The former Chelsea star, who announced his retirement in August 2018 shortly after the World Cup in Russia, said the decision was deliberate to give room to emerging talent. "You know what, Nigeria had a lot of talent, and there were a lot of players in the Super Eagles squad during the time I left. I thought it was essential for other players to have their moment," he said.
The 34-year-old made 38 appearances and scored 12 goals for Nigeria after switching allegiance from England's youth teams. He was a vital part of Stephen Keshi's squad that won the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa in 2013, and he featured prominently at both Brazil 2014 and Russia 2018.
