Paris Saint-Germain defeated Arsenal 4-3 in a penalty shootout to win the UEFA Champions League title on May 30, 2026, at the Puskas Arena in Budapest. The victory secured consecutive European trophies for the French team following a 1-1 draw across 120 minutes.

German forward Kai Havertz opened the scoring for Arsenal in the fifth minute after receiving an assist from Belgian midfielder Leandro Trossard. French attacker Ousmane Dembele equalized for Paris Saint-Germain in the 64th minute by converting a penalty after Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was fouled inside the box.

The match featured a dominant offensive display from the French champions, who controlled 72 percent of possession, while the English side relied on a defensive setup to absorb the pressure before ultimately succumbing in the shootout.

The result concludes the European campaign with Paris Saint-Germain successfully defending their continental title. Domestically, the French club recently secured their fifth consecutive Ligue 1 championship, while Arsenal concluded their campaign having won their first Premier League title in 22 years.

Paris Saint-Germain concluded their record-breaking European season with a total of 45 goals scored by their forward line across all matches in the tournament.

The club will return to competitive action on August 1, 2026, against Monaco in the Trophee des Champions match.
