Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has addressed the controversy surrounding his protective arm brace after Fenerbahçe raised concerns with the Turkish Football Federation ahead of the Intercontinental Derby.
Fenerbahçe submitted a formal complaint to the TFF, questioning whether the rigid brace on Osimhen's right forearm complied with player safety rules. The Nigerian international has been wearing the custom protective gear since fracturing his forearm in a UEFA Champions League match against Liverpool in March.
Galatasaray maintained that the brace is medically approved and features a soft outer covering to minimize any risk during play. The federation reviewed the matter and allowed Osimhen to participate in the derby.
In his post-match press conference, Osimhen spoke directly about the issue. "I don't understand Fenerbahçe," he said. "They complained about the protector on my arm before facing the league's top team. It didn't make much sense to me. But I came, did my job, and delivered my message in the best way possible."
