Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has been awarded the Milliyet Footballer of the Year for the 2025/26 season, one of Turkish sports’ highest individual honors.
The award was presented at a formal ceremony, April 2, 2026, at the Volkswagen Arena in Istanbul, as part of the 72nd AXA Sigorta Milliyet Sportsman of the Year Awards. Galatasaray goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır accepted the trophy on Osimhen’s behalf.
Osimhen earned the accolade through his dominant performances for Galatasaray in both the Süper Lig and European competitions.
Before his recent injury, he recorded 19 goals in 29 appearances across all competitions, including 12 goals in 19 league matches and seven goals in 10 Champions League games.
