Super Eagles friendly team 2026

Nigeria will play two international friendlies during the June 2026 FIFA window, taking on Poland on June 3 and Portugal on June 10.

The matches come after the Super Eagles failed to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Nigeria reached the later stages of CAF qualification but missed out after a decisive playoff against DR Congo.

The first game against Poland is scheduled for Tuesday, June 3, at PGE Narodowy Stadium in Warsaw. Kick-off is set for 7:45 PM local time, which translates to 6:45 PM Nigerian time (WAT).

The second friendly takes place on June 10 against Portugal, who will bring Cristiano Ronaldo into the contest. Both matches offer the Super Eagles a chance to test themselves against top-tier talent and build momentum under head coach Éric Chelle.

Nigeria currently sits 26th globally in the latest FIFA World Ranking, unchanged from the most recent update. In Africa, they rank third behind Senegal and Morocco. The team enters these friendlies following recent March 2026 results a win over Iran and a draw with Jordan.
