Kocaelispor head coach Selçuk İnan has described Galatasaray as “the best and strongest team” in the Turkish Süper Lig, as his side prepares to face the league leaders.
Speaking to TRT Spor, the 41-year-old former Galatasaray captain acknowledged the difficulty of competing against his former club, stating that the Lions are always favorites in such matches. İnan, who spent nearly a decade at Galatasaray and won multiple league titles, understands the club’s winning mentality firsthand. He reported that playing at Galatasaray demands constant excellence, and facing them as an opponent presents a unique challenge.
Galatasaray currently top the 2025-26 standings with 64 points from 27 games, holding a formidable home record of 11 wins and three draws. The defending champions have scored 63 goals while conceding just 20, yielding a league-best goal difference of +43.
Despite the challenge, İnan insisted Kocaelispor is aware of its own capabilities. “We know what we can do,” he added, signaling that his team will not be overawed when they meet the league’s pacesetters. Kocaelispor, under İnan’s guidance since 2025, has shown resilience this season, and the coach believes his players can rise to the occasion.
