Trabzonspor striker Paul Onuachu has called for calm as his side chase the Süper Lig leaders, urging his side to focus on winning the remaining matches rather than discussing the title race.
Speaking after the Super Lig match and later at a fan autograph signing event at Papara Park on April 9, the Nigerian forward said the team should avoid excessive comments about the title race. “We need to keep winning matches without making too many comments about the title race,” Onuachu said. “Right now, there’s a 4-point gap. We have 6 matches left. We’ll win the matches and then see what happens afterward.”
Trabzonspor currently sits third with 63 points, level with Fenerbahçe and four points behind leaders Galatasaray. Onuachu has scored 22 league goals this season and is chasing the club’s single-season record for a foreign player.
The team’s next test comes Saturday, April 11, with an away match against Alanyaspor at Alanya Oba Stadium. Kick-off is expected at 10:00 or 11:00 local Turkish time (TRT).
