Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has held discussions with Nigerian football authorities regarding his contract with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
The French-born tactician, who recently engaged in talks with local stakeholders, has emphasized the need to resolve outstanding financial matters to secure his future with the national team.
According to the Nigerian journalist Osasu Obayiuwana, Chelle requires certain conditions to be met by the NFF for his contract to remain secure moving forward. In a direct conversation with the coach on Friday, Obayiuwana quoted Chelle as saying: “Yes, there are financial issues to be discussed and resolved. But I leave them to my agent to handle with the federation. I want to concentrate on the job and the task at hand. I am coming to Nigeria to watch some Nigeria Premier Football League games and see some players. And we have the Unity Cup in London to prepare for.”
Chelle has been actively working to maintain his professional credentials, completing coaching recertification courses in France in recent weeks. The coach is expected to focus on squad preparation and player scouting ahead of upcoming international commitments, including the Unity Cup tournament in London.
