Gençlerbirliği president Arda Çakmak has publicly confirmed that head coach Volkan Demirel will remain in charge until the end of the season, even if the team loses to Galatasaray on April 18.
The Süper Lig Round 30 match is set for Saturday at Eryaman Stadyumu in Ankara, with kick-off at 17:00 UTC (20:00 local time). Çakmak emphasized that every remaining match is valuable, but the club’s support for Demirel and his staff is unconditional through the final five games of the campaign.
The Ankara-based side aims to win all five of their upcoming fixtures to collect crucial points and ease their league position pressure. While Çakmak acknowledged the importance of the Galatasaray clash, he reiterated that Demirel’s job is safe regardless of the outcome. “Even if we lose the Galatasaray match, we will continue with Volkan Demirel,” Çakmak stated, adding that the coach and his staff will lead the team for the last five matches.
