Burna Boy Becomes First African Artist to Headline El Gouna, Egypt

Burna Boy live in El Gouna Conference

Nigerian Afrobeat singer Burna Boy made history as the first African artist to headline a concert in El Gouna, Egypt.

He performed on April 11, 2026, at the El Gouna Conference and Culture Center. A large crowd showed up. The show marked his first time performing in Egypt and became a major moment for Afrobeats in North Africa.

From concert reviews and fan videos, Burna Boy played a mix of his biggest hits and crowd favorites. The setlist included “Ye,” “Last Last,” “On the Low,” “Gbona,” “It’s Plenty,” and his 2025 single “Update,” which samples Soul II Soul’s “Back to Life.” He also played “4 Kampé II” for the first time in Egypt and did an acoustic version of “Soke.” His energy and connection with the audience kept the crowd locked in all night.

The concert showed that El Gouna is becoming a real destination for African music and culture. The town has been hosting more international artists and creative events, building a name for itself in music, film, and the arts.
