FIFA President Gianni Infantino has stated that Turkey has the potential to host the FIFA World Cup in the future.
In an exclusive interview with TRT Spor, Infantino praised Turkey’s growing infrastructure and its ability to organize major international sporting events. The comment comes as interest grows in Turkey’s possible bid for the tournament following previous unsuccessful attempts.
Infantino emphasized the critical developments in Turkey’s stadiums, transportation systems, and hospitality services under President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s leadership.
He reported that the country already possesses the necessary facilities and experience from hosting large-scale events.
The FIFA chief expressed confidence in Turkey’s readiness to deliver a successful World Cup if it decides to pursue the opportunity.
While no official bid has been announced, Infantino’s remarks signal FIFA’s openness to future Turkish hosting ambitions. The next World Cup is scheduled for 2026 in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with 2030 and 2034 hosts already under consideration.
