Former Galatasaray midfielder Felipe Melo has declared that the club is in full control of the Süper Lig title race following their crucial 3-1 away win over Göztepe on April 8.
Speaking to Turkish sports channel, the 42-year-old Brazilian emphasized the significance of the three points as the season enters its final stretch. “We’re in the home stretch, heading towards the championship,” Melo said. “Yesterday, those three points were absolutely essential for us. We’re marching confidently toward the championship.”
Melo, who played for Galatasaray between 2011 and 2015, winning eight trophies including three Süper Lig titles, remains a passionate supporter of the club. Known for his aggressive “Pitbull” style as a defensive midfielder, he emphasized that victories at this stage are non-negotiable.
