Captain Ndidi Drops Powerful Message: “Comparison Destroys Personality”

Wilfred Ndidi Stands on the AFCON 2025 Anthem

Nigeria’s Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi has shared a powerful personal message on his Snapchat story, cautioning against the harmful effects of comparison.

The Leicester City legend, now playing for Turkish Süper Lig club Beşiktaş, posted a handwritten note in blue ink on a white background that reads: “COMPARISON DESTROYS PERSONALITY.”  Without attaching an emoji.

Ndidi, who joined Beşiktaş on a permanent three-year deal in August 2025, has continued to impress in his new environment. In the 2025/26 season, the 29-year-old defensive midfielder has made over 20 appearances, scoring 2 goals and recording strong performances with an average rating around 7.1-7.17.

He previously enjoyed a solid 2024/25 campaign with Leicester City, contributing 5 assists, 85 tackles, and consistent midfield control during their Premier League stint.

On the international stage, Ndidi has been instrumental as Super Eagles captain during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. He led Nigeria to strong group stage results and a quarter-final run, even offering to personally cover win bonuses for teammates amid payment issues. Despite missing the semi-final through suspension, his leadership helped the team secure a bronze medal finish.
