Trabzonspor forward Paul Onuachu is just a few goals away from breaking Victor Osimhen’s record from last season and becoming the second African player with the most league goals in a single campaign in the Turkish Süper Lig, on March 14 2026.
The Nigerian striker continued his remarkable scoring streak by finding the net against Caykur Rizespor, marking his 21st goal of the current season. With his latest strike, Onuachu has now scored in 10 consecutive league matches, placing him in contention to surpass Osimhen’s impressive tally from the 2024–25 season.
Onuachu, who scored the sole goal against Rizespor, now sits just six goals behind his national teammate Osimhen’s record of 27 league goals from last season. The 31-year-old’s consistent form has been instrumental in Trabzonspor’s campaign, as he continues to demonstrate his sharpness in front of goal week after week. His current run of form has not only revived his career in Turkey but also put him in the spotlight as one of the league’s most lethal finishers.
Surpassing Osimhen’s record would cement his place as the second-highest African goal-scorer in a single Turkish top-flight season, trailing only the all-time leader.
