Nigeria's Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has expressed frustration over the postponement of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The three-time African Golden Glove winner said players were unhappy with the last-minute change, which disrupted their intense preparations for the tournament. Nnadozie made the comments during an interview at Brighton & Hove Albion's training ground in Lancing, Sussex.

Speaking to the Nigerian journalist Osasu Obayiuwana, Nnadozie said: “We, the players, are not happy that the WAFCON was postponed. We were preparing hard for it.” The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the rescheduling of WAFCON 2026 from March to July 25–August 16, citing scheduling conflicts with FIFA.

Nnadozie, who plays club football in Europe, stressed the need for better planning of continental events to support players balancing international and club commitments.
