Morocco’s national team has decided against holding any on-pitch celebrations for their CAF-awarded Africa Cup of Nations 2025 title during tonight’s friendly against Paraguay in Lens, France.
According to RMC Sport, the decision was made to maintain full focus on the match, with no winner’s status displayed before or after the fixture.
The unusual circumstances surrounding the title stem from a CAF ruling in March 2026, which voided Senegal’s 1-0 final victory following a 15-minute walkout protest over a controversial penalty. Morocco was subsequently awarded a 3-0 forfeit win and the trophy, though the team has opted for a subdued approach to the recognition.
By choosing not to stage celebrations, the Atlas Lions aim to keep the spotlight on competitive preparations rather than the backdrop of their disputed continental title.
