Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi has become the first defender in Champions League history to record more than five assists in two different seasons, achieving the milestone during the 3-0 victory over Chelsea on March 17 that sent PSG to the quarterfinals.
The Morocco international first set the record during the 2024/25 campaign and has now repeated the feat in the 2025/26 season.
According to official UEFA statistics, Hakimi's assist against Chelsea was his sixth of the current season, bringing his career total for PSG to approximately 33 assists. His historic 2024–25 campaign saw him set a record for goal involvements by a defender with 26, helping the club secure a quadruple.
During that historic season, he recorded 11 goals and 15 assists, and he has been particularly effective in European competition this year, leading the assist charts for defenders.
