| Ryan Alebiosu shows up at the Afcon Tournament |
Nigeria Super Eagles teammates encountered injury setbacks following their group-stage qualifying match, raising concerns within the camp ahead of the next phase of the tournament. The injuries occurred after a physically demanding encounter that tested the squad’s depth and resilience.
Two Super Eagles teammates are set to miss the upcoming stages of the tournament due to injury concerns. Debutant Ryan Alebiosu, who was born in England and officially represented the Nigerian senior team on December 30, sustained a deep cut on his right leg during Nigeria’s AFCON clash against Uganda at the Fez Stadium in Morocco. The injury has cast serious doubt over his availability for the remainder of the tournament, with medical staff assessing the severity and recovery timeline.
Meanwhile, forward Cyriel Dessers has also been sidelined after experiencing discomfort in his thigh. The striker, who rejoined the Super Eagles squad for the AFCON after several years, is reportedly scheduled to undergo a scan to determine the extent of the injury. At the time of reporting, the exact nature of Dessers’ thigh problem remains undiscovered.
