The Nigeria Super Eagles defeated the Cranes of Uganda in a 3–1 victory as three Eagles shone on the pitch in Morocco during their Africa Cup of Nations Group C encounter. Uganda fought bravely and managed to pull one goal back late in the game, but the Super Eagles’ quality and experience proved decisive as they secured all three points and strengthened their position in the tournament.
Onuachu opened the scoring in the 28th minute, giving Nigeria an early advantage, before midfielder Onyedika added a double strike to place the Nigerian team far ahead of the Cranes. The Super Eagles dominated the midfield battle, pressing high and forcing errors that led to clear scoring chances. Onyedika’s goals in the second half underlined Nigeria’s superiority, as he calmly converted opportunities created through quick passing and effective wing play. Uganda’s Roger Mato scored in the 75th minute to reduce the deficit, but the goal came too late to change the outcome of the match.
Nigeria’s defense remained organized throughout the encounter, limiting Uganda’s attacking threats and responding well whenever the Cranes attempted to build momentum. The team showed strong chemistry across all departments, with solid goalkeeping, disciplined defending, and sharp attacking transitions.
With this victory, the Nigerian team now looks ahead to the Round of 16, where they will face a yet-to-be-determined opponent as they meet other African nations in the knockout stage.
