Nigerian and Chippa United goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, has paid an emotional tribute to Tunisian footballer Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane, while revealing one of the most difficult moments footballers often face ahead of major tournaments. The Super Eagles first-choice goalkeeper expressed deep sympathy following an unfortunate incident that left the Tunisian midfielder injured and ruled out of an important competition, describing such moments as painful realities of the game.

Nwabali shared a heartfelt message on his Instagram story as he publicly apologized to Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane. In the emotional post, he wrote, “I feel so sorry being the reason for your tragedy my friend. Football could be crazy sometimes, high emotions and all that comes with it. I want to wish you the best recovery my friend. I’m sorry my friend Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhanexi, from the bottom of my heart,” he stated, while adding a red love-heart sticker at the end of the message to further show his remorse and support.


The Super Eagles first-choice stopper also recalled what he described as one of the most difficult moments footballers experience worldwide. “One of the most difficult moments as a player is having an injury that takes you out of an important tournament,” Nwabali added, stressing how such setbacks can affect players mentally and emotionally after months of preparation and sacrifice.
