Republican lawmaker from West Virginia's 2nd District, Riley Moore, has voiced serious concern regarding the ongoing killings of Christians in Nigeria, particularly in the Middle Belt. Moore stated he has raised this as a "specific concern" directly with the President of the United States.

After a recent trip to Nigeria, Moore publicly thanked National Security Advisor Nuhu Ribadu for what he called a productive and positive meeting with his delegation. In his Twitter post, he reported their talks centered on "concrete steps and actions" to improve nationwide security, dismantle terrorist groups in the northeast, and halt assaults on Christian communities.

Moore also commended the Nigerian government and the Office of the National Security Advisor for a significant operational achievement—the rescue of 100 abducted Catholic schoolchildren. He characterized the rescue as a powerful sign of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's increasing dedication to tackling Nigeria's security issues, consistent with the administration's emergency declaration on national security.
