Nigerian and club Panathinaikos forward Cyriel Kolawole Dessers has expressed heartfelt gratitude after being added to the Super Eagles squad list for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The Belgium-born striker described the call-up as a proud moment in his career, noting that representing Nigeria on the continent’s biggest football stage remains a special honour.

Speaking to the Nigerian journalist on the Cali Sports Show, the Belgium-born striker revealed how impressive it is to be a forward in Nigerian football, both locally and internationally. “There are a lot of qualities in strikers in past years and even now in these present moments. So many Nigerian strikers are doing an amazing performance in both local and international football,” he stated. Dessers went on to give credit to some of the Super Eagles’ major attacking stars, praising the impact and quality of Ademola Lookman, Tolu Arokodare, and Victor Osimhen, whom he described as top performers capable of deciding games at the highest level.
