After a crucial 1-0 loss to Union Saint-Gilloise in the Champions League, Galatasaray star and Argentina captain Mauro Icardi spoke in a press conference on the subsequent match.
According to Habersarikirmizi, Icardi expressed his admiration for the quality of players who have previously joined the Turkish club. He stated, “Players like Victor Osimhen and Leroy Sane, previously unthinkable, have arrived. It's a great pride and honor for me to have contributed to this.” Icardi also emphasized the major progress the club has made, remarking, "It's been almost four years since I joined Galatasaray. It wasn't easy. Today, things have completely turned around. We’ve built a very big club in recent years."
The prolific forward also offered a candid insight into his personal health and unwavering commitment to the team. Addressing his physical condition, he revealed, “I had a serious injury. It's been four or five months since I returned. We're with the team, and I’ve played through injections and pain. We play every three days, and I give my best in every training session.”
Icardi made a combined total of 103 appearances across all competitions for the club, scoring an impressive 68 goals and providing 22 assists. His outstanding performance metrics are primarily driven by his success in the Süper Lig, where he has netted 58 goals in 77 appearances.
