Ghana's Minister for Foreign Affairs, Sam Okudzeto Ablakwa, recently held fruitful discussions with his Moroccan counterpart, His Excellency Nasser Bourita, in Rabat. The meeting served to review the excellent progress in relations following new agreements reached during Minister Ablakwa's official visit in June.

According to Ablakwa, the total amount of Ghanaian citizens who have benefited from the new Visa Waiver policy stands at 2,663 so far, highlighting the immediate positive impact of the policy on facilitating travel and people-to-people exchange. Furthermore, the first batch of 140 students under a newly negotiated bilateral scholarship scheme has arrived in Morocco. Discussions are also advancing for the establishment of a grand fertilizer manufacturing factory in Ghana, a key strategic partnership for the nation’s agricultural sector.

The scholarship program is highly beneficial, with 85% of the selected Ghanaian students offering crucial courses in engineering, computer science, medicine, and lab technology. This focus on technical and scientific fields directly supports Ghana’s human capital development and contributes essential skills needed for its industrial and health sectors, ensuring the scholarship scheme yields significant long-term benefits for the country's progress.
