Nigerian BeÅŸiktaÅŸ midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has openly revealed the struggles he faced in his early life before achieving international fame and success in professional football.
Ndidi shared a personal story on his Snapchat after a new tattoo appeared on his right arm, depicting a young boy hawking goods while carrying a football. When a fan directly asked him if he had ever hawked on the street, Ndidi confirmed his past, listing several recognized streets in Lagos where he worked. He stated, “I have hawked at Ojota, Ikeja, Mende, Maryland GRA, Onigbongbo, Opebi, Anthony, and Oshodi.” He also detailed the variety of products he sold, adding, “I hawked Orange, agbalumo, groundnut, tomato, pepper, pure water, (whipper) for traffic, avocado, Coke and Fanta, Gala just one time, and ugwu leaf.”
The talented midfielder's admission points up the challenging financial background he overcame. According to Ndidi, the hardships of his previous circumstances compelled him to engage in street vending to support himself, underscoring the resilience and dedication that ultimately propelled him to the global stage. His journey serves as an inspirational example of rising above adversity.
