Johor Darul Ta’zim and Chelsea shared a 3-3 draw in a club friendly on Sunday 9 August 2026 at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri, Malaysia, as both sides tested squad depth during pre-season preparations ahead of their respective domestic campaigns.
Malaysian winger Arif Aiman scored for Johor in the 14th minute assisted by Marcos Guilherme. English striker Liam Delap equalised from the penalty spot in the 42nd minute and converted another penalty in the 62nd minute. Spanish wing-back Oscar Arribas levelled for Johor in the 65th minute. Brazilian forward Bérgson restored the hosts’ lead in the 86th minute before Spanish defender Antonio Glauder scored an own goal in the 89th minute.
Johor Darul Ta’zim enter the new campaign as defending Malaysia Super League champions after a dominant previous season. Chelsea remain in pre-season with no current league points or goal difference recorded ahead of the Premier League start.
