Turkish club Galatasaray has made a move to sign Portuguese defender Renato Veiga on an initial loan deal that would include an obligatory purchase option, according to a report by Turkish outlet Milliyet.
The report states that the Istanbul giants are interested in bringing the 22-year-old to RAMS Park this summer and are proposing a temporary transfer with a mandatory permanent clause. The structure would allow Galatasaray to add Veiga to their squad immediately while spreading the cost of a full transfer.
Veiga joined Spanish side Villarreal from Chelsea in August 2025, signing a contract until the summer of 2032 in a deal valued at around 24.5 million euros. The versatile defender, who can play at centre-back, left-back and in midfield, spent the second half of the 2024-25 season on loan at Juventus after joining Chelsea from Basel in 2024. He made 33 appearances across all competitions during that period.
