Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Tolu Arokodare is at the center of a transfer standoff at the club, prompting a public message of support from Nigeria teammate Victor Osimhen.
A social media image circulating shows Osimhen's message to Arokodare that reads, "I've witnessed your growth and all I can say is IM PROUD OF YOU, God will see you through, whatever is happening now is nothing compared to what God is about to do in your life!!! Have faith."
The post comes during Arokodare's most difficult spell since joining Wolves on September 1, 2025, from KRC Genk on a four-year deal for around £24 million.
The latest developments unfolded on Monday at Wolves' Compton Park training ground. Reports said new head coach Cesar Peixoto told the 25-year-old he was no longer part of the first-team group, after which Arokodare refused to leave the pitch and the session was cancelled for the entire squad.
The club was said to have increased security and banned him from the base. Arokodare responded on Instagram, saying, "I was very surprised and disappointed to see the media reports today, many of which are inaccurate", adding, "I remain under contract with Wolves, and my only intention is to fulfil my responsibilities professionally by training, doing my job, and contributing to the team".
Wolves accepted a loan offer from Turkish side Trabzonspor, but the player turned it down as he wants to stay in one of Europe's top five leagues. Fiorentina have submitted an improved proposal of €22 million option to buy, while Ajax are now close to signing him on loan with a £17 million option to buy, plus a £1 million loan fee and bonuses.
