Galatasaray assistant head coach Ismael Garcia Gomez has explained why he considers Victor Osimhen among the top strikers in global football.
Speaking to Spanish publication Marca, Gomez said the Nigerian forward ranks within the world’s top three to five players in his position. He made the assessment while discussing the quality of players at the Turkish club.
Gomez pointed to Osimhen’s physical traits and all-round contribution as the basis for his view. He stated the striker operates at “an extremely high level” and combines that with notable physical strength. According to Gomez, Osimhen’s role extends beyond scoring. The forward actively presses opponents and participates in defensive work during games.
The coach also addressed Osimhen’s impact off the ball. Gomez said the striker can affect how opposing defenses position themselves even when he is not directly involved in play. The remarks were published this week as Osimhen continues his spell at Galatasaray in the Süper Lig.
